Things are getting messy fast on “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.”
New star Rulla Pontarelli is already dealing with major drama both on and off screen, as her husband Brian Pontarelli has filed a lawsuit tied to his alleged affair—while the situation also plays out on the show.
Rulla Pontarelli’s Husband Files NDA Lawsuit Amid Affair Drama
According to court documents, Brian has sued a woman he claims had an affair with him, alleging she violated a non-disclosure agreement they previously signed.
In the filing, Brian claimed the woman “materially breached and continues to breach the confidentiality and non-disparagement provisions of said agreement by making public statements and social media posts.”
He added that “as a direct and proximate result of the Defendant’s breach of contract, [Brian] has been damaged and continues to incur damages.”
Brian is asking the court to force the woman to comply with the NDA, stop making public comments, and pay damages.
The lawsuit stems from a prior agreement signed after a March 6 case, which resulted in what was described as an “iron-clad NDA.”
Bravo Newcomer Addresses Affair on RHORI
The alleged affair is also featured in the second episode of “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island,” which premiered April 2.
During the episode, Rulla confronts castmates about rumors surrounding Brian. She later tells him that “all of Rhode Island” is talking about their marriage.
Brian admits to the affair on camera and tells Rulla, “What happened last year, happened last year, and it’s in the past. I just want to move forward.”
Rulla later shared an update on the after-show, explaining that the relationship had ended. “There was a lot more togetherness,” she said. “He was making changes.”
“That person was no longer involved,” she continued. “I had to make sure that I knew his whereabouts. I had to make sure that he was very present.”
Rulla Pontarelli Marriage Drama Continues Off-Screen
Despite attempts to move forward, issues between Rulla and Brian have continued.
In October 2025, Brian was arrested and charged after authorities alleged he placed a tracking device in Rulla’s car. According to local reports, Rulla contacted police after suspecting she was being tracked, and investigators later found a device.
The misdemeanor domestic violence charge was ultimately dismissed after Rulla chose not to pursue the case. Following the dismissal, Brian’s attorney said, “Dr. Pontarelli is relieved that the case against him was dismissed and is behind him.”
Rulla and Brian have been married for nine years and share two children.
