Tom Schwartz is opening up about major changes in his professional and personal life, including Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd’s decision to sell TomTom, and where he stands with Tom Sandoval today.
The “Vanderpump Rules” alum spoke to Entertainment Tonight on April 1, revealing he wasn’t entirely surprised by the news that TomTom is officially on the market.
Tom Schwartz Reacts to Lisa Vanderpump & Ken Todd Selling TomTom
Schwartz said Lisa and Ken personally reached out to share the update.
“TomTom is officially on the market. Ken and Lisa reached out to me, and they said, in the sweetest way possible, and I kind of knew this was coming, [because] it’s been tough,” Tom shared.
He pointed to broader challenges in West Hollywood’s nightlife scene as a factor.
“So many places are going out of business on Sunset Boulevard. West Hollywood’s been struggling. The bar/restaurant industry is decimated … But I kind of knew this was coming.”
Despite the news, Tom reflected positively on the experience.
“I learned so much about the business and myself. And I got to be in business with Lisa Vanderpump and Ken. They’re OGs. They’ve been doing it their whole lives, successfully, and yeah, it was a formative experience for me,” he said. “Also, it’s cool to have your name on the side of a bar in West Hollywood.”
The Former VPR Star Shares Update on Tom Sandoval Friendship
Tom also addressed his relationship with Tom Sandoval following the fallout from the Scandoval drama, which contributed to the closure of Schwartz & Sandy’s.
“We took a long break from each other after the fallout with Schwartz and Sandy’s and everything. But it was a healthy break,” Tom explained. “I still love Tom. We’ve been through so much together. He’ll always be a brother or family to me. And it’s good to be friends again.”
According to Tom, Sandoval recently reached out with a supportive message.
“He reached out to me, and he’s like, ‘Dude, I’m so happy for you,’” he said.
Tom Schwartz Steps Into New Role on ‘The Valley’ Season 3
Tom is also entering a new chapter on Bravo, confirming he will have a bigger role on “The Valley” season 3.
“[But] it was cool to just, to not be kind of a sidekick,” Tom shared. “I think a lot of times I got relegated to sidekick status, which I didn’t mind. I liked being in the sidecar, but I guess I’m in the driver’s seat this season.”
New episodes of “The Valley” season 3 air Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
