Andy Cohen just shared the story behind a very entertaining night out in New York City — and it involved John Mayer and three familiar faces from “Southern Charm.”

During the March 9 episode of his SiriusXM show “Andy Cohen Live,” Andy opened up about a recent dinner with John along with Shep Rose, Austen Kroll, and Craig Conover. The group gathered at San Vicente West Village, a members-only club in Manhattan’s West Village.

Andy explained that he originally planned to take Shep, Austen, and Craig to the club before John decided to join the plans.

“Now, I think Austen’s a John Mayer fan. I know Shep is a [Grateful] Dead fan, whatever. Craig, I have no sense of his musical interests or anything,” Andy said on the radio show.

Andy and John arrived first and settled in before the “Southern Charm” cast members showed up.

Craig arrived first and immediately realized Austen would be surprised to see John already sitting at the table.

“In comes Craig first, and he sits down, and he’s like, ‘Oh my god. Austen’s gonna freak out when he comes and he sees you sitting here,’” Andy recalled.

Soon after, Shep and Austen joined the group — and things quickly got lively.

“They sit down, and immediately they are wild, the three of them together,” Andy said. “And they start getting into it about something — and I go, ‘You guys.’ Like, [it’s] the dining room at San Vicente Bungalow? It’s low-key. It’s fancy. There’s a piano player.”

John then started asking questions about “Southern Charm,” which Andy noted the musician had never watched before.

“John is now asking them questions about their show, which he’s never seen,” Andy explained.

John asked the trio questions about how the show works and whether the cast shares a house.

“John’s like, ‘Do you share a house together on the show?’ John’s trying to figure out what it is,” Andy said.

Craig tried to explain the filming process, which only made the conversation more confusing.

“Craig is like, ‘Well, they film it like a movie,’ and I’m like, ‘What? They film it like a movie.’ There’s a lot of misinformation coming around,” Andy joked.

John Mayer Shares Honest Reaction to ‘Southern Charm’ Cast

As the dinner continued, John became increasingly curious about the group’s dynamic.

Andy said John asked whether the men had ever dated the same women on the show.

“John’s like, ‘Well, have you all ever dated the same girl on the show? Do you date girls on the show?’” Andy recalled.

Andy then gave a blunt explanation of the series’ themes.

“I’m like, ‘Much of this is about the horrible things that they do to girls and then how they’re gonna get better or improve or whatever.’”

About an hour into the dinner, Austen decided to ask John for his honest opinion.

“Austen turned to John like an hour in and he goes, ‘What do you think of us, John? What do you think of us?’” Andy said.

John’s response left everyone laughing.

“He goes, ‘I think that the three of you have the most chaotic energy I have almost ever been around,’” Andy recalled.

John added that he was still trying to understand their personalities.

“He said, ‘I do not understand your speech patterns. I do not understand.’ He goes, ‘I’m not disinterested.’ But he’s like, ‘It is a level of chaos that I don’t understand your rhythms.’”

Andy Cohen Says ‘Southern Charm’ Castmates Are Still Navigating Their Friendship

Andy also noted that it was nice to see Austen and Craig spending time together following the drama in “Southern Charm” season 11.

The Bravo host said viewers will get more insight into their relationship when the reunion airs.

“I will say, you really have to watch the reunion, but they are able to be around each other,” Andy said.

However, he made it clear that things are still complicated.

“But I would say it is a more than fraught relationship. More than fraught,” Andy said.

Despite the tension, Andy said the evening was memorable.

“That was a really fun night,” Andy added. “I mean, really fun.”
