Bravo gossip is buzzing as Brittany Cartwright opens up about her love life while her divorce from Jax Taylor inches closer to the finish line.
The “The Valley” star appeared on Lala Kent’s “Untraditionally Lala” podcast and admitted she’s not exactly out here dating the way fans might think. “I don’t feel like I’ve been dating dating,” Brittany confessed during the February 8 episode. In fact, when discussing her brief romance with Brandon Hanson, she joked, “I kind of forgot Brandon existed.”
She quickly clarified she didn’t literally forget him, but described their relationship as “very short-lived.”
Still, Brittany hinted that things could shift once her divorce from Jax is officially finalized. “Honestly, I think once my divorce is final, it’s going to open new doors for me in a weird way,” she said, adding that much of her personal life happens in private.
Her co-star Janet Caperna, who also joined the podcast, praised Brittany for setting higher standards. Janet said she’s proud of her for recognizing “red flags” and keeping her guard up.
Brittany Cartwright Talks Divorce Delays & Legal Frustrations
It’s been about a year and a half since Brittany filed for divorce from the “Vanderpump Rules” alum, and she previously shared on her “When Reality Hits” podcast that the process has been anything but smooth.
“The hardest thing about the actual divorce is just that it keeps getting pushed back and pushed back and pushed back,” Brittany revealed in January. While she said she has submitted all required documents, she explained that if “the other person doesn’t, then it just keeps getting delayed and delayed.”
Meanwhile, Jax has publicly focused on his sobriety and mental health, while both parents continue navigating co-parenting for their 4-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi.
“It depends on the day, it depends on the mood,” Brittany admitted of their dynamic. Still, she told “California Live” that Jax “definitely loves his son,” but added, “I just get things done.”
As for where she stands now? Brittany says she’s happy.
“My son is so amazing… He is my little everything; he’s my best friend,” she said. “Honestly, I just love having him with me all the time.”
After confirming her relationship with Brandon last year — which included trips to Mexico and plenty of social media buzz — Brittany later revealed they split amicably, citing long distance as the main issue. “I love being single,” she told Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea.”
