Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky may have looked cozy over the holidays, but insiders say fans should not read too much into it. After the estranged spouses were spotted together multiple times between Christmas and New Year’s, questions swirled about whether the longtime couple might be finding their way back to each other. According to a new report, that is not the case — even though the former couple remains close.

Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky Are ‘Not Getting Back Together’

A source exclusively told Us Weekly that Kyle, 56, and Mauricio, 55, are not rekindling their romance.

“They are not getting back together or rekindling their romance,” the insider said, while noting there is “still so much love between them.”

The source added that Kyle and Mau are “in a really good place right now” as they head into 2026, more than two years after announcing their separation in 2023.

According to the insider, the reason Kyle and Mauricio were seen together so frequently during the holidays comes down to family. The former couple shares four daughters: Alexia, 29, Sophia, 25, and Portia, 17. Mauricio is also stepfather to Kyle’s eldest daughter, Farrah, 37, whom she shares with Guraish Aldjufrie.

“Kyle and Mau have done a good job maintaining normalcy in front of the girls especially during the holiday season,” the source explained.

That effort appears to have paid off. They are genuinely friends right now and still have so much fun together,” the insider added. “They have been loving towards one another but that doesn’t mean they are getting back together.”

As the new year begins, the source says the dynamic between Kyle and Mauricio is working — not just for them, but for everyone around them.

“Everyone is very happy,” the insider said. “They have come a long way and are back in a good place.”

Kyle and Mauricio were married for 27 years before confirming their separation in July 2023. At the time, a source told Us Weekly that the pair was still living together and remained amicable as they figured out next steps. The couple later released a joint statement acknowledging they had “a rough year” but emphasized that they continued to “love and respect each other tremendously.”
