Sutton Stracke is once again peeling back the curtain on her complicated past with ex-husband Christian Stracke — and this time, it involves an annulment request that caught her completely off guard. Years after finalizing their divorce, the longtime star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” revealed that Christian is now seeking to have their marriage annulled, a move that left Sutton both surprised and reflective as she navigates season 15.
Sutton, 54, and Christian, 50, were married in 2000 after knowing each other since their teenage years. The former couple, who share three children, divorced in 2016 — a split Sutton has previously shared was initiated by Christian on her birthday. Now, nearly a decade later, his latest request has reopened old wounds.
Sutton Stracke Opens Up About Ex’s Annulment Request
Speaking with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Sutton explained that Christian recently told her he wanted an annulment because he believed it would help them maintain a better friendship.
“The reason that he gave me was that he thought it would make us better friends,” Sutton said. “Yeah, I thought that was a very interesting reason.”
Viewers may recall that during the RHOBH season 15 premiere, Sutton’s mother didn’t mince words, suggesting the annulment request was essentially Christian telling Sutton, “You don’t matter.” Sutton admitted the revelation was difficult to process, calling it “a little bit of a sucker punch” at first.
Still, Sutton emphasized that time has helped soften the blow. “You know, you get used to things after the initial shock is over,” she said.
Despite the surprising request, Sutton insists her relationship with Christian is in a healthy place. He currently lives in London, but the two recently spent time together while sending their youngest child off to college. Sutton described the experience as unexpectedly positive.
“We had drinks by ourselves, just to kind of talk about the future of our children and what we’re gonna do there,” she shared. “So we’re still very much intertwined and always will be.”
Sutton also told Us Weekly that their relationship has come full circle. “We met when we were 13. We were friends, and so we’re ending up as friends now,” she explained.
As for the annulment being tied to the Catholic Church, Sutton said she views it as something Christian needed for himself. “I guess that’s just what he needed in the relationship,” she said, making it clear that nothing about their divorce agreement has changed.
“We did not renegotiate our divorce,” Sutton added. “I feel great, my kids are great and happy, and that’s the most important part.”
“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” airs on Bravo on Thursday nights.

Poor Sutton- it’s not like she asked for this divorce so it’s rich that Christian was the one that he filed for the annulment when he’s the one that couldn’t fulfill his vows
I’m assuming he wants to remarry in the church. Maybe odd timing/cane as a shock to her, but they’ve been divorced for a while.
How can you both be 13 when you meet but 3-4 years apart now?
So because of the Catholic Church’s stand on divorce, that’s why he’s requesting an annulment?!
The Catholic Church doesn’t recognize civil divorce because it believes valid sacramental marriages are permanent covenants made before
