Teresa Giudice is getting candid about motherhood, Italian parents, and what she calls her most uncomfortable topic yet: the sex talk. The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star opened up on her podcast “Casual Chaos” about how she talks to her daughters about intimacy — and the story that still leaves her stunned decades later.
On the November episode of the podcast, her daughter Gia Giudice asked how Teresa handled the conversation with her own kids, especially after she “just had” the talk with her youngest, Audriana.
Teresa Giudice Says Her Dad Took Her to a Doctor to Check Her Virginity
Teresa didn’t hold back. She admitted she grew up in a strict household, after her parents immigrated from Italy in the early 1970s.
“I feel uncomfortable about talking about this because I feel like it’s private,” Teresa said. “I feel like every mom has their way of doing it.”
According to Teresa, her father took things to an extreme level before her own wedding.
“This is why my dad told me he was gonna take me to the doctor’s the day before I got married, to make sure I was a virgin,” she recalled.
Teresa added that she gives her daughters the same advice — just with a slightly modern twist.
“You shouldn’t have sex until right before you get married,” she told her daughter. “But if it happens … make sure you wear a raincoat.”
Gia was understandably confused. “What?” she asked. “What are you talking about?” Teresa doubled down: “The guy has to wear a raincoat … down there.”
Teresa said she also warns her girls about the risks.
“God forbid, you know you could get sexually transmitted diseases,” Teresa told Audriana. “That’s STDs.”
Gia admitted that growing up, she never discussed sex with her mom. “I was so strict,” Teresa responded, remembering how she and her ex-husband Joe would joke about dropping their daughters off at a convent.
“We’re like, ‘We’re dropping you guys off at the nuns,’” Teresa said. “And you guys would all start crying.”
