And just like that, another chaotic season of “Love Is Blind” has wrapped. Season 9 promised love, passion, and emotional breakthroughs — but instead delivered what many fans are calling the messiest installment yet. With zero couples walking away married for the first time in the show’s history, viewers didn’t hold back their disappointment. Now, creator Chris Coelen is responding to the backlash — and he’s not apologizing.
Chris Coelen Says the ‘Love Is Blind‘ Experiment Worked
Fans have called season 9 “the worst season ever,” pointing to inauthentic connections, questionable casting choices, and an overall lack of chemistry. But Coelen insists that what happened was actually proof that the concept still works.
“In my eyes, the nature of the show is to see if love in this unique environment is possible,” he told Tudum. “And, with all of the no’s at the weddings, this should remind us that marriage is a huge decision. It’s not one contestants should make in the heat of the moment for the sake of filming or to just say yes.”
He added, “That’s exactly how the experiment is supposed to work, so I would say not only is the experiment working — I think it’s working better than ever.”
Coelen also made it clear that one disappointing season won’t slow the franchise down. “I think we’ll see many happy couples continue to come out of the ‘Love Is Blind’ experiment in the future, who have fallen in love with who they are.”
And it looks like Netflix agrees. The streamer officially renewed ‘Love Is Blind’ for a tenth season, proving that no matter how messy things get, fans just can’t look away. Whether the next batch of singles will redeem the show or keep the chaos going is anyone’s guess — but let’s be honest, we’ll all be watching either way.

All of these relationship “reality” shows just need to do a better job of vetting the contestants. The majority are clout-chasing, wanna-be influencers. It’s all very tired.
