Kristen Doute Clears Up the Outfit Drama From Season 3
Kristen Doute never shies away from a messy moment, but one of her most meme-worthy “Vanderpump Rules” looks wasn’t even intentional. Fans still talk about the tiny dark green minidress with a plunging neckline that Kristen wore in season 3, episode 7, when she stopped by ex-boyfriend Tom Sandoval’s apartment to pick up her mail.
Tom claimed Kristen was “dressed to the f—ing nines” to impress him, even suggesting in a confessional that she was pulling the “look good around your ex” move. Kristen, though, insists the outfit wasn’t about Tom at all.
“The Tom’s house filming, that was not on my list that day of something to do,” Kristen told Bravo Insider. “It was going to lunch with Rachael O’Brien at a restaurant in L.A. … that morning, it was like, ‘OK, we’re going to swing by Tom’s and you’re going to pick up your mail.’ So I went in five-inch black stilettos and a dress that’s like — I mean, down to my belly button, the V was so deep!”

Where the Dress Ended Up—and How Andy Cohen Got Involved
Kristen later realized she wore the dress more than once during season 3, including in a confessional. “Is that the only dress I own? Probably because back then I was so broke!” she joked.
Over the years, the dress passed through a few hands, including Stassi Schroeder’s sister, before making its way back to Kristen. Eventually, Kristen decided it deserved a proper Bravo sendoff. “I think it’s lived its life in my hands and it needs a new home. I’m going to give it to Andy [Cohen],” she said.
And yes, Kristen actually handed the infamous green minidress to Andy on “Watch What Happens Live,” much to his delight. Whether it ends up in the WWHL Clubhouse or on display at BravoCon, the dress has officially reached Bravo relic status.
“It’s so weird but I’m glad I could make my little stamp!” Kristen laughed.
