Sophomore slumps are basically a Bravo rite of passage, and “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Bronwyn Newport is about to learn that the hard way. Bravo has teased what’s to come in season 6, and while fans were expecting icy feuds and messy drama, Bronwyn is also facing something much heavier: her parents’ health struggles and a “devastating diagnosis.”

Bronwyn Newport Faces Family Health Battles in RHOSLC Season 6

According to Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Bronwyn’s storyline this season goes beyond the normal Housewives petty squabbles. She relocated her parents to Salt Lake City after a string of health scares, and the cameras are capturing it all. “At home, Bronwyn has relocated her parents to Salt Lake City after a series of health scares and a devastating diagnosis, but tensions reach a boiling point when her mother strikes a chord with her harsh critiques,” the official promo revealed.

In the trailer, viewers see Bronwyn and her mom revisit some painful history, including Bronwyn’s teenage pregnancy. “My mom is disappointed in me, she’s made that very clear,” Bronwyn says in one emotional moment. So yeah, expect tears before the snow melts in Utah.

Drama With Lisa Barlow Explodes Again

Of course, this is still RHOSLC—so family drama doesn’t give Bronwyn a free pass from her castmates. Season 6 picks up right after that explosive reunion, with Bronwyn and Lisa Barlow once again going toe-to-toe. In one fiery scene, Lisa sneers, “You should really go to school,” prompting Bronwyn to snap back, “Go to work to pay off those f*cking lawsuits.”

It’s the kind of Housewives one-liner that fans will be quoting all season long. Between family challenges and friendship implosions, Bronwyn is gearing up for a sophomore year that promises to be nothing short of brutal.

“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” returns to Bravo on Tuesday, September 16 at 8/7c.
