Peacock is developing a new reality show set in Augusta, Georgia. Centered around the lives of older, wealthy, southern, and conservative country club women living in lavish estates, it is going under the working title “Southern Wives Club.” The idea came about during filming for “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 14, when Sutton Stracke visited her mother in Augusta alongside Kyle Richards and Garcelle Beauvais.
Production was reportedly impressed with the backdrop and vibe of the city, which led to the idea for a spinoff. Interestingly enough, Tinsley Mortimer was approached to lead the series, as she and her new husband, Robert, have fully embraced their luxurious southern lifestyle in Augusta. If the show is greenlit, Sutton is expected to make a few cameo appearances, similar to how Dolores will appear on “The Real Housewives of Rhode Island.” Stay tuned.

I stopped in Augusta briefly on a road trip and for the life of me could not see where a wealthy part of the town was. It was new strip malls and a downtown that was just starting to become unabandoned with a smattering of restaurants and shops. It was run down. It is a weird tiny city. Shocked Tinsley lives there.
As someone who grew up in Georgia, I’m not buying this at all. The only nice area is around Augusta National and it’s a very small area. The city’s nickname is Disgusta. I’m calling fan fiction on this one.
