Have you ever dreamed of partying in the Hamptons with your favorite “Summer House” stars? For nine seasons, the cast has turned their weekend getaways into full-blown events with wild themes, endless Loverboy, and a rotating door of party guests. But how do people actually score an invite to one of these legendary bashes? Here’s everything we’ve learned from the cast about what it takes to get through the doors of “Summer House.”

‘Summer House’ Parties Are All About the Link

“Summer House” parties may look like they have a carefully curated guest list, but they actually start with something refreshingly low-tech: a Partiful link. As cast members Jesse Solomon and West Wilson recently explained on Radio Andy, there’s no formal vetting process for party guests. Instead, there’s just a limit of 150 names and a bit of organized chaos.

Wilson described it as an “open-door policy,” and Solomon added, “not everybody shows up, and then people who want to come can’t get in. It’s a lot to come for the day… but people do it.”

Friends from New York City often make the trek out to the Hamptons just for the party, which is no small feat when you consider the travel, lodging, and heat. But if that link hits the wrong group chat, a few fans may sneak in. However, most guests are usually friends-of-friends.

Last-Minute Party Invites Happen

Here’s where things get interesting: not all invites are sent in advance. Sometimes, all it takes is the right conversation at the right bar. Kyle Cooke admitted that spontaneous invites do happen. These could be for a new friend, a friendly fan, or even someone’s mom.

“Last summer, Kyle met someone’s mom and invited her for the Fourth of July party and she came with a whole tray of cookies,” Amanda Batula told People.

The “Summer House” crew likes to keep the vibe loose and welcoming, and there’s definitely plenty of food and drinks. These weekenders start with tequila shots and end with midnight snacks like Goldfish crackers, which the cast swears by.

“I’m obsessed with Goldfish,” Batula said. “They’re basically a food group in this house.”

The ‘Summer House’ Parties Don’t Plan Themselves

These parties do take a lot of work, they don’t just appear out of nowhere. Cooke said, “We do it all,” which includes buying groceries, coming up with party themes, and even taking out the trash.

“I feel like people think the food magically pops up, the parties magically throw themselves and people magically show up,” Cooke said.

The female cast members like Batula and Ciara Miller, are usually on pantry patrol, while the guys keep drinks flowing and coolers full.

“I started buying groceries for the house maybe in season 2,” Batula revealed. “I was doing it for years and felt unappreciated, so I gave up and Ciara swooped right in and took over.”

Each week, the housemates take turns planning a themed bash. They do occasionally get some help from production in crunch time, but the bulk of the work is on them.

“We’re sweating. We’re hands on. We are tying, we are taping, we’re running around,” ” Batula said of the party prep.

Miller made it clear that they put a lot of effort into their parties, and they keep getting bigger each year. She said the parties are “out of our own pockets,” while Cooke noted, “We keep setting the bar higher and higher.”

“Summer House” season 10 is currently in production. All seasons are available to stream on Peacock.
