Her company had financial issues then covid happened. They almost went out of business.
They are now in touch with those that weren’t paid and they’re working to rectify. During Covid they almost went out of business because people didn’t pay them. It was not pretty. She said her business was down by 70% on the show and it was true.
I understand why the creators/agencies would be upset but this was a sad reality for many businesses during covid. Update: We talk to Becky Minkoff about this on the pod!

I think that’s where communication comes in. She could’ve easily communicated that to creators and agencies instead of just not paying them. It’s only so much grace you can have with a person. Grace doesn’t pay bills
Ya I owned a business during Covid as well. I sold off some of my own things to ensure I could pay bills. She had the personal means to do so.
As a business owner, I totally get this. However if you aren’t in constant communication with those you owe money then that is a totally different story. I feel like if her company was in communication with those creators/businesses they wouldn’t be publicly slamming her.
Also the first rule of business is you always pay payroll above all else. If you don’t have employees, you won’t be able to provide a service/create a product to bring income in. Those creators are basically contracted employees and should have been paid in a timely manner.
Even if you have to sell one of your homes or other personal property to make that happen if COVID is the reasoning.

Okay. That’s ridiculous. For so many reasons…for ex: maybe if she hadn’t given so much $$$ to Scientology, she could’ve paid her bills.
Agree with Justine, above. A simple “we’re so sorry, we’re having trouble paying people because we’re not being paid. Please be patient” email would have helped people understand better than just not paying them.”
