My friend was in Charleston, SC and saw both Shep and Whitney.
She walked up to them and offered to buy them a drink.
Shep said yes, I will have a Miller Lite, Whitney ordered a $40 whiskey!
Her husband was pissed. He goes you spent $45 buying those guys a drink?!
I mean was that Whitney being Whitney, or how incredibly rude. He is such an entitled douche (in my opinion).
She took a picture with them and went on her way. They were with a big group of guys
She said whenever she walked by them (to go to the bathroom，both Whitney and Shep did give her a head nod (like, hey) lol

when someone offers to buy me a drink, I would never buy anything that’s over $20. I would either decline or just order something. I’d like that I know is reasonable. But that’s just me.
I’d guess they both ordered what they were planning to order from the start. If she couldn’t afford it, she shouldn’t have offered. Whitney is a rich man and has learn from the best about what he likes to drink. I wouldn’t expect anything less.
I don’t think Whitney or Shep were unreasonable. Money aside, F the husband. If he didn’t like the idea to begin with, have that conversation before drinks are offered. You offer not knowing what they’ll choose. If she’s a fan, she shouldn’t expect them to cheap out on her behalf. That’s on you if you think it’s too much.
Whitney comes from a rarified world. He probably just ordered what he drinks and wasn’t trying to exploit this woman for a special whiskey. However, if they were true gentleman, they would’ve declined the offer and instead bought drinks for her and her husband. “Thanks for being a fan!”
I find Whitney to be a spoiled douche however in the situation I would say she probably asked something to the effect of “can I buy you guys another round?” And they said yes, so she ordered what they were already drinking. And only had an issue with it because her husband was mad.
