A shocking video involving “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, is making headlines again.
TMZ recently shared footage from the couple’s 2023 altercation, which ultimately led to Taylor pleading guilty to aggravated assault. The resurfaced clip shows a heated argument between Taylor and Dakota inside their home.
In the video, Taylor repeatedly strikes Dakota as he tries to de-escalate the situation.
“Physical abuse,” Dakota says as Taylor has her hands on him. “See, Taylor, this is all you do. It’s the only thing you know how to do is hurt me. Hon, you think this is okay? It’s not okay.”
Taylor then insists she does not “give a f—” whether it is okay and attempts to kick him.
The argument escalates further when Taylor grabs a barstool and throws it in Dakota’s direction.
Taylor Frankie Paul’s Daughter Was Present During the Altercation
The footage becomes even more disturbing when it shows one of Taylor’s children sitting nearby during the argument.
“Your daughter is right here,” Dakota says in the clip as Taylor throws another barstool.
Moments later, the child can be heard crying as the argument continues.
“You did this,” Taylor yells, blaming Dakota.
Dakota then urges her to stop throwing objects and yelling in front of the child.
“That is it! No more! You’re done. Please, stop,” he says at one point in the video.
As Taylor continues shouting, the child can be heard through tears calling out, “Mommy.”
Dakota later tells Taylor, “Your daughter just got hit in the head with a metal chair.”
Taylor responds by blaming Dakota, but he insists otherwise.
“No. You. Go and help your daughter now,” Dakota says in the footage. “Help your daughter, Taylor.”
The argument continues until law enforcement arrives at the home.
Dakota tells officers that Taylor is “hammered,” while Taylor responds that Dakota is intoxicated as well.
Taylor Frankie Paul Addressed the Incident in Court
The 2023 incident resulted in legal consequences for Taylor.
She later pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was placed on three years of probation. Her probation is expected to end in August.
A representative for Taylor also spoke out after the video resurfaced.
“It’s sad to see the latest installment of his never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child,” the statement said.
The representative also criticized the timing of the video’s release.
“Releasing an old and selectively edited video on their son’s birthday is a reprehensible attempt to distract from his own behavior,” the statement continued.
The controversy comes at a particularly intense moment for Taylor, who is currently facing renewed scrutiny after a separate incident involving Dakota that reportedly caused production on “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” to pause.
The situation is unfolding just days before Taylor’s debut as the lead of season 22 of “The Bachelorette,” which is scheduled to premiere Sunday night.
