Gia Casey is one of the new housewives joining the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. She has actually been approached to join the show several times in the past, including seasons 5, 6, and 12, but previously declined.
Gia is married to DJ Envy, the longtime co-host of The Breakfast Club. The couple shares five children and lives in North Jersey. Over the years, they’ve been very open about challenges in their marriage, including Envy’s past infidelity, and even wrote a couples book together about working through it.
One of the main reasons Gia passed on the show in the past was because she didn’t want to be the only Black woman on the cast. However, she may be bringing one of her close friends.
She’s close with Teresa Giudice, and her children attend(ed) the same school as Melissa Gorga’s and Joe Gorga’s kids. She previously test-filmed with Teresa a few months back.
A cast is nearly finalized. Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, and Dolores Catania are all expected to return.
Margaret Josephs, who initially had little interest in coming back, is now more open to returning than she has been in the past, though her status is still not fully confirmed.
Meanwhile, Jen Fessler remains in the mix along with a 1 other veteran name, but they are not the primary focus at the moment. The rest of the cast is expected to be largely new faces. Expect a busy summer in Jersey!
