Taylor Frankie Paul’s journey to find love is officially underway. The “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star is stepping into the lead role for “The Bachelorette” season 22 — and early previews suggest she won’t be afraid to shake things up.
In a first-look clip, Taylor delivers a strong message to the men competing for her heart. “If you’re here for the wrong reasons, you’re leaving,” she says, hinting that this season may not follow the usual formula.
Host Jesse Palmer is also teasing major twists. “This is going to be unlike any other Bachelorette season people have ever seen before,” Jesse says in the preview.
Whether that means surprise eliminations, unexpected exits, or something completely new remains to be seen — but it’s clear ABC wants viewers buckled up.
Clayton Johnson Brings Celebrity Buzz to Taylor Frankie Paul’s Season of ‘The Bachelorette’
As is tradition with the franchise, the cast already comes with a little intrigue. People reports that contestant Clayton Johnson was previously engaged to singer Lana Del Rey before the two split. The timeline of their breakup has not been publicly detailed.
ABC’s casting bio describes Clayton as “a true Southern gentleman who just hasn’t found the right one yet.” The bio adds, “This talented musician is searching for a love that’s loyal, nurturing, and built to last a lifetime.”
It continues, “Clayton calls himself a lover boy and is ready to write love songs for the woman of his dreams. He’s beyond excited to meet Taylor and has romantic surprises already planned for her.”
Outside of reality TV, Taylor shares two children with ex-husband Tate Paul and one son with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen — meaning any suitor will need to embrace her role as a mom.
Season 22 of “The Bachelorette” premieres Sunday, March 22, at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
