Brittany Cartwright opened up about her ongoing divorce from Jax Taylor, their finances, and co-parenting their son during a recent podcast appearance.
Brittany, 37, spoke candidly on the January 27 episode of “Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey,” where she confirmed she’s still single, addressed rumors about her paycheck from “The Valley,” and revealed that Jax still hasn’t paid her back for money tied to their mortgage.
Brittany Cartwright Says Divorce Keeps Getting Delayed
Brittany explained that finalizing her divorce has been anything but smooth.
“It keeps getting pushed back and pushed back and pushed back,” she said.
When asked why the process has taken so long, Brittany pointed to missing paperwork on Jax’s end.
“He didn’t turn in things on time, or they needed something from me, or he was out of town for something, and we had to move the date, so it’s always just been something happening,” she shared. “I’ve got everything in now, so yeah. I am good to go.”
She added, “I have all that stuff in, but if the other person doesn’t, then it just keeps getting delayed and delayed.”
Brittany said she hopes to be officially divorced within the next month.
‘The Valley’ Star Reveals Jax Taylor Still Owes Her Mortgage Money
Money has also become a major sticking point between the former couple.
According to Brittany, Jax never repaid her for funds she added to their mortgage because of his tax debt.
“It’s his taxes on top of the mortgage, so like my mortgage is fine, but the extra stuff that he took out … I am now having to pay monthly,” Brittany revealed.
She added, “Hopefully, we’ll figure that out with a divorce.”
When it comes to co-parenting their son Cruz, Brittany admitted things remain complicated.
“It’s a lot, it’s up and down. It depends on the day, it depends on the mood,” she said. “[But] Cruz comes first no matter what and his dad feels the same way, so things are better, but there are definitely a lot of hard moments.”
Brittany also described her marriage to Jax as “toxic.”
Brittany Cartwright Confirms She’s Single and Reacts to ‘The Valley’ Salary Rumors
During the interview, Brittany shared that she’s been single for more than two years and is focused on herself.
“I think I had to work on myself a lot after [the split] and I’m just kind of like, I don’t have to be in a relationship. I don’t need a man for anything really,” she explained. “I’ve got my own house, my own money. I’ve got, you know, everything. I can do everything on my own.”
She added, “I do want a partner eventually, just to have fun with and enjoy life with, but it’s not something I’m like, ‘I have to have a boyfriend.’ I just want to have fun right now.”
Brittany also shut down rumors claiming she earns between $5,000 and $25,000 per episode on “The Valley.”
“[But] I’m not gonna say exactly how much,” she said, confirming the amount is “higher.”
“The Valley” season three is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime early this year.
