Jax Taylor is stepping away from more than just reality TV. After announcing his departure from “The Valley” to focus on his sobriety and mental health, the Bravo alum also revealed he’s cutting ties with his namesake Los Angeles bar—and insiders say the decision couldn’t have come soon enough.
Multiple staffers at Jax’s Studio City tell The U.S. Sun they feel “relieved” to no longer be associated with the former “Vanderpump Rules” star, who they claim brought “chaotic energy” to the workplace.
“It was becoming mortifying to say, ‘Oh yeah, I work at Jax’s bar,’” one staffer said. “After things got so dark, it’s a relief to not be tied to him anymore.”
The insider added that while Jax “tried to be nice,” he often ignored employees, made inappropriate comments, or acted as if he were only there to mingle with fans and be seen. “He just wanted attention,” they said.
Another employee put it bluntly: “Jax’s antics and that dark cloud just brought the bar down. He couldn’t keep it together—so good riddance.”
A Pattern of Chaos: Abuse, Surveillance, and the Final Straw for Jax’s Bar
This season on “The Valley,” Jax admitted to physically abusing his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright, revealing he threw furniture during a fit of rage with their 4-year-old son nearby. Brittany later shared that she was left with bruised legs, and Jax confirmed the incident.
He’s also admitted to drug addiction, planting recording devices in Brittany’s home, and sending rage-fueled texts while in rehab.
In his Instagram statement, Jax wrote: “Right now, my focus is on my sobriety and mental health, and staying connected to my bar is no longer in line with the priorities I’ve set for myself.” He added a note of gratitude to the bar’s staff and fans, saying, “Thank you for sharing your stories, your energy, and making this place feel like home.”

But behind the scenes, staff say the exit announcement came as a surprise—and a welcome one. “It all happened so fast,” one said.
As Jax navigates his personal challenges off-camera, those still working at the Studio City hotspot hope the chaos he left behind doesn’t return. Whether “The Valley” returns without him remains to be seen—but at least at the bar, the dust may finally be settling.
