Brynn Whitfield is trying to set the record straight about her exit from RHONY but some fans aren’t buying it. On the June 18 episode of her Please See Below podcast, Brynn claimed she made the decision to walk away from the Bravo franchise—by hoping the network would fire her.

“I was hoping that they would either fire me, or… cancel the show,” she said. “Or they would be like, ‘Hey, we’re done casting. Sorry, Brynn.’” She added that she made up her mind during the Season 15 reunion, telling listeners, “I decided at the reunion that I wasn’t going to do it. I was like, ‘This is too much.’”

But as we reported months ago, Brynn’s departure may not have been entirely voluntary. Insiders had already heard she likely would not be back for another season following the fallout from her explosive confrontation with co-star Ubah Hassan during the Season 15 finale.

From a Firestorm to a Soft Exit

Fans were stunned when Brynn accused Ubah of calling her a “whore” after she opened up about an experience with sexual assault—a moment that turned the spotlight on RHONY season 2, but for all the wrong reasons. The reunion only intensified the backlash, and Brynn’s reputation within the cast never fully recovered.

On June 9, she announced her official exit via Instagram Stories, saying: “After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to walk away from reality TV. For now.” She thanked fans and reflected on the “chaotic and magical” ride, calling RHONY an honor.

Still, Brynn admitted she had hoped to return in a smaller, part-time role. “I’m like Kathy [Hilton],” she joked. “I don’t need to hold an apple. I just want to come in, be my dumb self, enjoy it, then bye guys.”
