B (0ß0:01):

We’re gonna share tea that we haven’t shared, which is so hard for me because I get stuff and I post it immediately. It was like the Podcast Gods knew because I got stuff today. And already was holding stuff in the kitty. We’re gonna have really good stuff. I mean, some of it, like you think, you know, somebody and you get an email about them and you put it all together and all of a sudden you realize you don’t know how you didn’t know. Welcome to Cocktails and Gossip, the podcast where we drink cocktails, but you better believe we’re gonna spill the tea. We chat reality TV, celebrity blinds, and the hottest tea from Bravoandcocktails.com. I’m B.

Amanda (00:48):

And I’m Amanda. Let’s get into this week’s tea.

B (00:55):

It’s all alleged. Everything we talk about is just for fun. We have no idea. If it’s true, we would be a news site. This isn’t the New York Times or the Wall Street Journal. And we don’t verify any of the blinds or gossip. There are plenty of other sites that do that. Although many of our blinds end up being true. Sometimes we don’t find out until it’s publicly confirmed. We try to make our best guess, sort of like a puzzle. We get a bunch of different pieces of a story and we piece them all together. I’m B and this is my co-host Amanda.

Amanda (01:32):

Hey everybody. I’m so excited to be here. Cheers and cheers. The first podcast, I feel like we should talk a little bit about why we’re here and who we are.

B (01:42):

Absolutely. So I started the Instagram account in 2019. I had a family situation and it led to me for the first time after years of being a mom to have time to myself and I mean, we all scroll Instagram and social media and I love meme, accounts, love, pop culture. And I said to myself, why don’t I start a Bravo account? Like I’m always following. And, you know, sending my friends, these posts, I’m funny. I mean, I could do with this. I’m kind of funny. Right? So I started the account <laugh> and yeah, I mean, from there it grew and making memes and sharing tea. And what happened was I started getting tea and I just blindly posted it. I mean, I didn’t blur names. I just posted it and more would come and we would put whole stories together and stuff started getting picked up, like by Page Six, by US Weekly by People magazine. It was actually very exciting for me.

B (02:44):

Listen, I always had rules, you know, self-imposed rules. I don’t post anything about children. You know, I’ve gotten a lot of paternity stuff. Who’s the daddy regarding Housewives and other public people. I don’t touch that. It’s not, for me. I’m not interested. I don’t touch abuse. One of the very big stories that you all know that I was closely associated with had a large abuse element that I just refused to post. And, you know, that’s whatever I post what I wanna post. And a lot of times people say to me like, oh, you have favorites or why don’t you post about this person? I mean, listen, it’s my account. I can post or not post whatever I want. And I don’t really need to explain it to anybody. <laugh> and I don’t, you know, as a kid, you guys know her from her television show, Wendy Williams and side note.

B (03:35):

We wish Wendy well. I know she’s going through a tough time right now. I am a fan of Wendy’s from a little girl. I grew up in New York city and she had a radio show. And like, if you guys like her talk show, you should have heard her radio show. She spilled it. She was ruthless. I mean, it is what it is, was one of her lines. And I just was obsessed. I would come home from school. I would hide in my room. So my mom wouldn’t hear it. And I’d be like, ah, I, I remember vividly, she would always talk about Whitney Houston, who at that time was married to Bobby Brown. And there was all this scandal, but it was, you know, social media. Wasn’t a thing back then. And so we didn’t know. I mean, we clearly saw, especially when they had their reality show that they were like whacked outta their minds.

B (04:18):

But Wendy was saying it, Wendy was like, these people are on drugs. Like she was saying it and I was hooked and she had Whitney on and the two of them went at it. And I mean, it was peak entertainment. I don’t know if before or since I’ve ever been as entertained. So my passion for this has always been, you know, it’s always been there and I will take this time. This is I, I started this account and I just loved it. And it was my hobby. And it was my way of, you know, being Wendy Williams. Right. Cause that was <laugh> my childhood dream. And then, because I didn’t know what I was doing and I didn’t know the rules I got shut down. I know now that you can’t post things like “I would kill for her body”. Clearly when you read that, you know that I’m not gonna kill, you know, that I’m complimenting her.

B (05:07):

I didn’t realize it. My first account got shut down. I think we were, we were close to 200,000 followers, my second account, my third account. So when I started my fourth account, I said, all right, B, let’s be, let’s use our brains here. You have to be more careful. And because I’m a big mouth and my nickname was tell it like it is in college. I just, you know, said, I need a space where I can say, what the I want to say. And that is what I posted. I, a lot of followers messaged me, really talented creative people. And that’s how I met Amanda. And she said, “Let’s do it. We can do this. And this is gonna be big.” And I remember her telling me, and in my head, I was like, “You don’t wanna disappoint this girl. Like, I don’t think this is gonna be that big, you know, but Hey, look, let’s try it. Right.” And so my very talented now friend, Amanda, a couple days later, it was born, Bravoandcocktails.com Wwasas born.

Amanda (06:02):

It’s been so much fun doing this, getting to know you, and all of the fun and funny things that have happened in the late night texts and the early morning texts from between us both. And like trying to figure out, “how do we do this?” You know? Cause we never want to ever hurt anybody’s feelings. It’s really all just for fun and for gossip. And it’s so funny because you tell about your story. And like I used to read this thing on E online’s website called The Awful Truth and it was written by, the guy’s name was Ted. I forget his last name. But when I was in my twenties, he would write all these blinds about all of the stars and where they used to go out.

Amanda (06:55):

And I used to do a lot of work in LA back in the day. So I would always go to those restaurants and be like, “Ooh, can I see any of these people?” Anyway, it’s been so, so much fun. Just seeing the website really take a life of its own as we just started it back in October. And it’s really grown. And I think it’s so fun to see that there are people who come back day after day and they’re commenting and they’re having their own little community around it. So it’s been a ton of fun.

B (07:28):

And Amanda and I both get the emails. So like, we’ll get an email and we’ll text or call each other like, holy, can you believe they just sent this to us? And we’ll like, and we put it together. We’re like, and we got this three days ago. And so now this makes sense. And so like that’s how the blinds come to life when stuff comes true. Like yes, there has been stuff that I have been sent and some of it I post because listen, there are slow days, guys. Let’s be honest. Okay. And another thing that I want to get out of the way, right. In our intro episode, few months ago, I don’t even, maybe it was on my old account. I don’t remember. My memory is for the birds. That’s the first thing that you need to know about me. I put up an Ask Me Anything.

B (08:09):

Someone said, are you famous? I wrote, yes. Exclamation point from there. It became a guessing game. And like, it was funny. Like I liked it. Right. So some of the guesses were like, fantastic. Like Jamie Lynn Siegler. Yes, please. I mean, I wish some of the guesses were not like in my head, I’m like, how dare they think I’m this lane. But. I say all that to say, I’m not famous. I’m a girl from New York city. I’m a grown woman from New York city. I’m a mom and this is a hobby. So for those of you who know, I’m not famous and always tell me I’m not, you’re right. I’m not <laugh> for those of you who think I’m famous, you can think that I am, and I’m just hiding, but I’m not, I’m not famous. So, so let’s get to the podcast.

B (08:52):

Right. So Amanda brought it up to me months ago and you know, we get approached and Amanda’s great. She, and I work well together. She gets a lot of people reach out to her for partnerships and things like that. And we’ve been approached by several different media companies and, and people wanting to put a Bravoandcocktails podcast. I was very hesitant. You know, I have no experience. And you, you know, you kids, I’m sure there are people younger than me listening. You all never know radio like Amanda and I are the same age, you know, as well. We’re not exactly women of a certain age as Wendy Williams would say, because we’re younger than that. But you know, we remember radio before like podcasts and, and so like radio used to be the spot. I’m not in that world. So I guess I was a little, I don’t know if I was intimidated by a podcast or I just didn’t know enough about them. We decided together that, you know what, all these people keep coming to us. They wouldn’t be coming to us for no reason. So we were like, “Let’s give it a go. If we like it, we’ll keep doing it. If we don’t, we’ll stick to our website and our Instagram, but you know, let’s see what we got.” Let’s let’s give the people what they want, Amanda.

Amanda (10:00):

<laugh> exactly. And it gives us a chance to like hang out every few weeks too, which is a super bonus part of it too. So, so I guess I’ll talk a little bit about what we’re gonna be talking about. So, first. There’s a reason we are also doing a podcast, right? Cause I think just about anybody could have a podcast I think is gonna be so fun about this podcast is, it’s gonna be related to the things that are happening on the website. We’re gonna be talking about what the cocktails are saying in the comments, because you guys, if you are not yet paying attention to the comments, run to the comments because that is where sh!t goes down. That’s also

B (10:44):

Where you figure out who the blinds are about . Don’t DM me. I’m only kidding. Yeah. I love you guys. You guys can always DM me, but honestly you go to the comments and figure it out.

Amanda (10:53):

That’s where I figure a lot of them out too!

B (10:54):

In there that basically settles it.

Amanda (10:57):

I don’t always know who these people are and we’re the ones who get the emails.

B (11:02):

Right. I post them and I don’t know who they are. I post the blog. People are like, who is this? I’m like, I don’t know. I’m waiting for someone to tell me. And then someone says it and I’m like, B, that makes sense. Why didn’t you think of that?

Amanda (11:14):

The readers are so smart. They have way better memories. Cause I have a crappy memory too.

B (11:21):

So smart, funny, like so much of what I post people like your account. So good. My account is like the sum of all parts, right? So it’s not me like, listen, I’m cool. Okay. But it’s the sum of all parts. I attract like-minded people and together we are cool and we have really good content and that’s honestly what makes it fun, you know, on a Friday night when my kids go to sleep and my husband’s watching a game and I have no interest, it’s like, “ah, let me go hang out with my friends and be funny with them.” <laugh> <laugh>

Amanda (11:47):

So, the format of the podcast might change a little bit as we kind of move on, but at least at first, what we’re gonna really kind of talk about is some of the craziest blinds and that kind of stuff. And then the best part would be if you wanna share, B?

B (12:04):

The best part <laugh> is going to be, we’re gonna share blinds that we haven’t shared, which is so hard for me because I get stuff and I post it. So today, oh my God, Amanda <laugh> it was like, it was like the podcast God’s new because I got stuff today. And I already was holding stuff in the kitty. So today in the next episode, well the next two episodes, we’re gonna have really good stuff. I mean, some of it, and what I like is, and I know my, my Bravo fans and this isn’t just Bravo. Right? It’s pop culture, my pop culture, fans love classic. Right? Like you think, you know somebody and you get an email about them and you put it all together and all of a sudden you realize, you don’t know how you didn’t know this person was an. We got one of them coming up and that one is that one is juicy. Ooh.

Amanda (12:58):

So yeah. So that’s one of the great reasons to make sure you tune in with us every other week is because we will share stuff here that is not talked about on the website. It is not talked about on the Instagram account. It will only be here. So join us every other week for cocktails and gossip. It is free to download on Apple podcasts, Spotify, Google podcasts, wherever you get your podcast and definitely subscribe. So you don’t ever miss an episode. Thanks for listening. And we’ll see you soon. Thank you guys.

Amanda (13:38):

Thank you guys so much for listening. Just wanna ask you guys a favor. We are just getting kicked off. So many people have been asking us to do this podcast. So please do subscribe. And if you subscribed go to your podcast app and hit those three little dots to share with your friends, but only friends who like good tea, because the ones who don’t care about tea, then forget them. <laugh> And don’t forget, find us on Instagram at Bravo and cocktails underscore and check out the website because some great tea gets put there daily that would get us kicked off of Instagram.

B (14:19):

It has gotten me kicked off Instagram

Amanda (14:21):

Multiple times. Yes. And so now we’re smarter and we just put it at Bravoandcocktails.com.

B (14:27):

When you know better, you

Amanda (14:28):

Do better. <laugh> so thanks for listening everybody.

B (14:32):

Bye guys. See you next time.
